"DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE WATER PUMP FREE OF CHARGE" (on turbo models)

nice that they'll replace a wear & tear item that costs hundreds to replace when it normally goes out.

gixxerjasen 01-14-2012 07:59 PM

And it hits the news...

reducati 01-15-2012 05:27 AM

is the date of manufactur on the car somewhere?

Tata Steva 01-15-2012 05:37 AM

I am just wondering how the new pump is replaced? Does it require taking off the whole front section of the car (bumper, radiator, intercooler, etc) or by taking off turbo from the top?
Anyone?

TaTa Steva I'd say your best bet is to maybe check out www.realoem.com and see what the schematics show.

Reducati another question www.realoem.com would be able to answer for you...you put in the last 7 Digits of your VIN and it will tell you MM/YYYY.

You can see it from under the car, just below the oil filter housing, doesn't look too hard to replace, a couple of water lines, attachment bolts and electrical connector.

Seedyman 01-16-2012 11:19 AM

Kind of a drag they won't work on it until I actually get the letter.

budoboy 01-16-2012 01:31 PM

Wow, looks like I get another free dealership carwash! I was just there last week for warranty replacement of fuel pump and carbon cleaning at 21K. Just put in a catch can this morning. These motors aren't maintenance free are they?

Wow, read the comment section. Lots of chest-beating going on. Some people are just ignorant. :impatient:
