I'm planning to replace them by myself. I got 07 mini cooper non-s model and I saw youtube that shows how to replace them but they are all type-s model. and I am looking to buy oem or aftermarket air filter but i need a recommendation for price and website. also I need what tools I need to use to remove covers. Thanks

AFE filter.

A nut driver with an 8 or 10mm socket. Maybe a philips head screwdriver.

about 5 mins of your time.

I ordered a filter from parts.com, but you can get them anywhere. Just changed it this weekend. You need a Torx bit to open the filter housing. Took about five minutes total. The filter is made by MANN.

It is supposed to be changed every other oil change, but the dealer with their "free" maintenance failed to ever change it. Cheapskates.
