Can anyone take some good close up pictures of their rain gutter with the factory rack uninstalled? Little hard to search Mini rack without seeing the rack...

When I bought my MCS I was set on getting factory rack afterwords but then when I looked at the dealer, they really destroyed the rain gutter on the install. In fact they actually cut out more than what I see on the net.

Since I would run without the rack 90+% of the time, I didn't want ugly notches in my rain gutter or rain leaking in or dripping off in weird places.

 

The kit comes with plugs that blend in pretty well. I can take pics in a few min though.

 

Here you go, the car is a mess, just got back from an 1,100 mile road trip.

 

Awesome those pics are very helpful. Had no idea inserts came with the rack. Did you install yourself? Have you or anyone seen any leak issues due to washing or rain?

 

I did the install myself. Took about 2 hours from start to finish. I do not think leaks will be an issue, the rubber seal that you tear out is just resting on top of the roof. It only takes me about 20 minutes to re-install, as well.

 

Once you have installed the rack the first time it get easier to take off and re-install, with help I can install both racks in less than five minutes.
