new member/question?

I just bought a 2011 Cooper S spice orange metallic. I love the car, but I noticed that on the rear bumper next to the backlights there is and extra light, but I can not figure out the purpose of it. It does not light with any of the switches or brake or backup or hazards. I don't have a switch for rear fog light. What I have been thinking is that if I put a rear fog light switch, is already wired for it. It will make sense but rear fog lights on mkinis is only one light on the center above the exhaust, there are two next to the backup lights. I called mini and they did not know anything about it and the dealer was not even aware of them. ???? Any coments??

Are you sure they are lights and not just reflectors.

It sounds like the rear fog lights. For 2011 they were moved to right next to the back up lights. There is a bulb and everything installed to.

Ya I'm pretty sure your talking about the rear fogs. The 2011 have them preinstalled. If you ordered them you get the toggle but if not they are just there. There might be a thread on trying to wire them up if you search it.

Here's a shot of my '11 MCS. I don't believe I have the extra lights you're referring to.

If you have the rear fogs your fog light toggle should have both functions on one switch. Up for one and down for the other. Check it out.

My front and rear fogs use different switches.

I am pretty sure the R57 has the duel function switch where the R55/R56 has two separate fog light toggles.
