How much of a discount on a new 2010 or 2011?

Just stopped by my local MINI dealer to check and see what they had in stock and what kind of deals they had. They had 2 2010 coopers that had a sticker around $23K. They also had 2 2011 cooper S that were around $25k. The sales person said they had a lot more room to negotiate on the 2010 but she would talk to the manager when he got in this afternoon. What do you guys think is a fair discount for a new 2010 still sitting on the lot and a new 2011? I test dove them both and wow the S has A LOT more kick! That was my first time driving a MINI and it was a ton of fun in both. Thanks

Get the S if you can afford it. Way more fun. We got the CostCo discount of $1,250 and an additional $500 (although they charged us for mats and tint which came to $500 - how convenient but we would get them anyway) on a 2011 Convertible S that was on the lot.

If you can't save that much, I would go for ordering it online so you can get exactly what you want.

In November my 2011 MCS had a sticker of $27800. I paid an out the door price of $27,500 but that included 3% North Carolina Road Use Tax($825) Hood stripes, Floor Mats and a few trinkets. My dealer, Hendricks were great to deal with. Super folks

Oh, and the S is super fun. Cant compare it to a justa though cause believe it or not my Cooper is the only MC I've ever driven or even ridden in.

I just bought my 2011 MCS on Wednesday and the dealer took $1,575 off the $27,200 sticker price.

I bought my 2011 MC (no S) about a month ago and I was able to get them to go $2100 below sticker price plus floor mats.

thanks guys, It's nice to hear of the discounts out there. It really helps those of us looking. The dealer just got back to me and their offer is $3,500 off the 2010 and only $500 off the 2011. My guess is I can squeeze some more out of them so I will keep shopping around and let you know what I come up with. If anyone comes across a new 2010 chili red "S" left over on a dealer's lot I would love to know about it. Or a used 07 or newer would be great. Thanks.

Enjoy the discounts while you can. As the gas price rises, the discounts will shrink or disappear.

I got a $2000.00 discount when I ordered my $33,000 LB/carbon black lounge 2011 MCS.

hard to say how much of a discount you get when we don't where you live to understand the market conditions.

I got $500 off MSRP on a custom ordered 2011 MCS at a CA MINI dealer. Based on what I read online, I wasn't expecting any discount so I was happy with what I got. I guess I should've haggled more.

I picked up my 2011 Cooper White silver on 2-22. Sticker price was 24,200. I offered $500 over dealer invoice minus $1575 option credit for a price of $20,957 otd was 22,593.86 (ttl) I used carwoo.com and it made the buying process so simple. The only slight drawback was driving 226 miles to pick it up, but it was well worth it for the deal I got. They did mention that deals like this wont last due to gas going up. I purchased from mini of Clear lake in League city Texas

FYI..just in case it makes a difference in when and what you order with your MCS.

I got an email from my salesperson today and it included details of the new JCW package for the MCS. She said it'll be available in the April allocations and it will be $2000, and will include the following:
JCW Aero Kit
17” Challenge Spoke Wheels
Dynamic Traction Control
JCW Door Sills
JCW Shift **** (manual only)
JCW E-brake handle (manual only)

Blurring the visual differences even further. MINI you are a mess when its comes to differentiating the JCW from the Cooper S.

The door sills are part of the JCW side skirts. Not just a large domed sticker.

Yeah, and some of those things like the shift **** and ebrake handle shoulda always been included on the JCW as standard. Now there will be MCS's that look more JCW than most JCWs out there.

This is more about styling than performance though.

Heh..maybe it was listed separately to make it sound like you get more in that package...kinda like listing air if you buy tires or something.

I negotiated $2500 off of my heavily-loaded 2011 MCS back in Dec. The sales guy, Jerrad at Nick Alexander (awesome salesman), threw in the stripes and floor mats also.

Well, I was able to negotiate $4100 off a new 2010 my dealer still had on the lot. It does have 600 miles and was used as a demo, but it comes with a complete warranty that starts from the time I buy it. It is as new and they are also throwing in mats, bonnet stripes, and an arm rest. It isn't an S but it is for my wife and she won't care about not having as much power. Should be fun.

Congrats on the new car!

You need to double check on that warranty situation, the warranty usually starts on the in-service date, or the date it becomes a demo. With only 600 miles you won't lose much, and it's a reasonable trade off for a discount that size.

the salesman checked on it and told me it starts when I buy the car. I pick up the car tomorrow or Tuesday and I will make sure again before signing the final papers. I'll try and get some pictures posted soon.

Current Offer in Ohio is 1 Free Option

I picked up a 2011 MCS on Tuesday. I was able to get the one free option which was the Premium Package priced at $1750. I also negotiated for free the all weather floor mats and base roof rack with bike rack (approx. $350+ total). But, they low balled me on the trade-in. In any case, I got the 2011 MCS with most of the options I wanted off the lot. There's no way I was going to wait 2 months to get a configured one.

I got them to do 50% on a clear bra, no dealer prep fee, the upgrade option like above, all weather mats, boot mat and it came out to about 800 over invoice, 3k off sticker. They also gave me private party value on my trade.

make sure that the battery is still good, since the car has been on the lot for awhile.
