Looking for Chrome mirror's

I am looking for some reasonably price chrome wing mirror covers, not the ones that stick on over the existing, but ones that replace the existing cover that would have clips built in.

I bought some $50 covers off eBay recently but they didn't fit over my mirrors, they were too small. The store said they have sold dozens of these for my model year without any issues. These were designed to stick on top of my mirrors but there was no way they were going to work.

Are the mirrors on Minis different sizes throughout the years?
Mine is just a standard 2008 coupe. Strikes me as being odd.

Gen 1 and Gen 2 mirrors are different

Gen 1 are smaller; sounds like you got parts for that generation if you are Gen 2.

And, covers also vary depending on whether or not you have the folding mirror option.

Thus, look for BOTH the right generation, and whichever folding (or not) configuration you have.

On the box it said 2007-2008 Cooper hard top, nothing about folding or non folding or even 2009 upwards.
But it does sound like I got the Gen 1 version as they would not wrap around my mirrors fully, there was about an inch short all around. Also the profile wasn't the same. I have heard that the stick on covers look like crap anyway.
It seems to me that the thickness of the scotch tape inside would leave a small gap between the cover and the cap and thus allow moisture and dirt to get underneath it. And obviously look crappy.

Why would you want Mirror Covers and not Caps?? The Covers would stick out and not be flush with the Black Mirror Housing, I've been eyeing the Chrome Mirror Caps, but the price is a bit much, they are priced ea. instead of sold as a pair??!! Just found out that Outmotoring is selling them as a set, but the Dealers, from what I've found are selling them Right/Left!! :sly:
