@wrx_xb9r, I recall reading something like that as well, and I believe it. The GP is a perfect example.
But I do think it's likely that a _version_ of a non-metallic green color will be released at some point.

2011 options.....
Where did you see about options available for 2011? I'm going to be getting a JCW for 2011 but am having difficulty finding anything out. The WC50 seats would be nice, but not for the $2-$3K that Mini will probably want for them. One thing is good though, is that the Aero is suppose to be standard this year. the crazy part in all this is that BRG is starting to grow on me, and me a former green hater.
I did see where the WC50 seats are going to be a 2011 JCW option. I am not happy about that as I was wanting those to be special also.
In Kansas
The current deal with MINI is pay in cash and get $1500 off.
It is Baron MINI in Mission, KS.
I see that you're in Kansas, well I'm not that far from you as I live in Des Moines. We're getting a Mini dealer here, by the end of the year, but I've been trying to deal with Baron. A note on the rear fog lights, it seems that they don't order them on ANY of their cars. When I told the saleman that I was was talking with, that a lack of rear fog lights could very well be a deal breaker, he laughed and said that they never ordered because they thought it was a $100 waste. I said, the more lights out in back, especially in the fog, is most appreciated. Also, there are cutouts for the lights, so why not? I'd take those before the white taillights.
Take care and enjoy the WC50.
