And you have evidence for this, or are you just making assertions based on your own assumptions? (and I don't count any claims made by the vendors selling the heat shields)

I wouldn't do a track weekend with a heat trapping blanket on my turbo. I agree that MINI may test turbo under hard conditions, but not with a aftermarket heatshield installed.
My point is that the turbo will get very hot and, by design, can handle it. So hot, in fact, that hood scoops can't handle it. Do I need evidence for this? I was simply stating that the mini's engine/turbo, like most cars, was surely put "through the ringers". Whether on a track or elsewhere (like a desert area), is irrelevent. As so, the turbo would get blazing hot. The M7 heat shield has openings around it and does not "blanket" the turbo, so heat will dissipate more slowly, and not directly above it into plastic! Will it overheat the turbo, I don't have any hard data, but I doubt it. You're asserting that the heat shield would overheat the turbo in a harsh track enviroment, which you cannot prove either.

Buy an M7 Heat Shield and you won't have any problems with the Hood Scoop.
