R56 MPG for YOUR MINI!!! mine seems really low =(
Do you have any mods on your car? I think I drive pretty spiritedly, and also spend about 30 min each day in stop-and-go traffic, and end up with around 30 MPG on my MCS w/6-speed tranny. Maybe I'm not driving it as aggressive as I think I am.
Edit: Actually I take it back...I'm getting about 25 MPG the last two fill ups as well. I guess my right foot really is as heavy as I thought.

Well, if I had a DoS intake and heard that whoosh of air each time I mashed the pedal, I think I might get pretty low gas mileage too. Not saying that's what you do...but that's what I would do.
On my next tank of gas I vow to keep the sport button off and shift at 3000 RPM. I wanna see what I can actually get if I tried.

I have a manual 2008 MCS and my commute is 35 miles with 30% city/70% freeway every day. I have 215/45 -17 tires and computer says I get around 30.2 with aggressive driving.

I just got back from a 270 mile trip and got 38 going out and 39 on the return. This is calculated milage not actual and there is a small mountain in the middle of the route so my actual is probably 36 and 37.. Also, I filled with 87 octane regular at the half way point. We will see what that does!
07 manual Justacooper. No performance mods. 91-93 octane.
During breakin I was basically hypermileing and got 45mpg. But that was the last time for those miles because once I was past it I've been driving the heck out of it and get 32-37mpg ( computer average city driving) lol Highway I still get 38-42, unless I go too fast and then the air drag lowers it to 36.

I just filled up and using tripometer math I got 24.3 MPG this time. At least it seems like it's really consistent. When I got down to where the OBC said I had 35 miles of gas left I turned off sport mode and puttered along the rest of the way home. I have to say...even though sport mode off is a boring way to drive (IMO) it really seemed to sip the gas. After driving about 4 miles I looked and it said I now had 45 miles of gas left.
So I'm sticking with my vow of no sport mode for this tank. I'm hoping to break 30 MPG. We'll see.

. I have surely gotten to 6th gear with the sport button in my manual. It kinda feels like 7th gear.
You are correct but, 2010 has no paddle shifters.
Reviving an old thread here.... found it when I did a search. I was curious about my own MPG.
If I baby it I'll get between 29 and 30mpg which from the ratings per Mini is pretty good. If I push it, it'll drop to about 24 or 25. Supposedly the convertible gets a little bit lower MPG than the hardtop.
My driving is about 80 to 90% bumper to bumper, morning and afternoon rush hour, several school zones and a traffic light on almost every block. Takes me 45 minutes in the morning to go about 10 miles and maybe half hour coming home.
On weekends I'll sometimes take some long 60+ mile highway trips and when I'm on the highway at 65 to 70 mph, it hovers between 34 and 40 mpg. The city driving kills my mpg though.
Today I'm driving a hardtop loaner from the dealer and it's getting about 1 or 2 mpg better like it's supposed to according to Mini's ratings.
I envy the people who are getting mid to upper 30s mpg with a lot of city driving. I wonder if it's my driving style or just that my city driving (Miami rush hour) is worse than most people's idea of "city driving."

I have been driving my 2010 justa auto for over a year now and have about 9,500 miles on it so, it is pretty well broken in. In mixed driving I get between 29 to 31 on average and can get up to 33 on a straight road trip. The one thing I have noticed is that the MPG calculator is all over the place! It will indicate 35-36 mpg for the first half of the tank, drop to 32-34 for the third quarter and when i fill up and calculate my mileage it is actually 30-31. You would think a modern car company could figure out how to make an accurate MPG calculator as Acura did in my 2001 MDX.
In my 2011 manual shift 6 speed, I get between 30-33 mpg in the city and that is with the sport button on ALL the time. I have not had much highway driving on it yet, but from a fresh fill up and hitting the highway, after about 50-60 miles the trip computer was showing 39 mpg.
In saying this, I ALWAYS calculate my fuel economy with a calculator because I know the trip computer is not going to be accurate. But I also compare the trip computer to the calculation and have never been off more than 1.2 mpg.
Keep in mind I also have the ScanGauge to do computer to computer comparisons with and that just blows my mind how they can be different from one another, but they are.

The mpg number my computer comes up with is significantly off the tried and true, accurate method of using a calculator, miles traveled from the odometer (or trip odometer), and gallons from your gas station receipt.
In my 2011 Justa, with my daily 35-40 miles per day, 50/50 city/highway ... I'm getting 33mpg +/- .2-.3 with no sport / shifting at 3000 and about 30mpg with sport on, driving like I wanna drive.
On my last tank of 91 octane, 100% gas, I had 34.5 mpg.
That's with 50/50 city/highway and not using sport.
The OBC had 39, but calculating gave me 34.5
My GMC Sierra gets 17. It will haul more compost than "chubby"
My Honda 750 ACE gets about 50, and is fun to drive, too.

Actually, not allowing access to certain gears (under specific conditions) on a manual was common for EPA ratings. On monster torque engines (aka Viper, Vette. etc.) if you accelerated slowly. the computer wouldn't allow a 1-2-3-4-5-6 shift. The manual would only allow 1-4-5-6. A simple resistor mod or ECU flash got rid of that. Ironically, this program resulted in drivers accelerating harder (hence less mpg) to avoid the 1-4 shift. A 7 or 8 liter engine can easily can easily leave the line in 4th, but that's not were the excitement lies.....
'10 Justa and I get between 28 and 32 mpg in the city. I think the major difference is winter driving vs nice weather driving. I tended to start the car and let it run while I brushed the snow off. As for interstate travel, well that is between 37 and 41 mpg. Now, I have had mine since mid November of 10, and only have around 3800 miles on it, but the mileage is getting better.
These are all done by a calculator and not with the obc.
