UFF DA, OEM RF's Gone!
Had read many posts about RF tires from here and GB, not many of them complementary. After 17K, I gave in and put on Goodyear Eagle GT 215/45 R17 Z's yesterday. Why the H _ _ _ did I wait so long? What an immediate difference, and they're hardly scrubbed in. Got them at Discount Tire ($608 out the door). While there, I had them weigh the two. The new one was ~5lbs lighter and the RF'S were about 50% gone. That's a lot of un-sprung weight. No wonder the steering and ride are sooo much better! Yes, I now carry an emergency repair/inflation kit.
Dwight PS: They look pretty cool, too. |
I agree with you 100% and next month I will also be able to tell you how much better Non-RF's are compared to my Goodyear Exellence RF's (195/55/16), I will be replacing them with Bridgestone Potenze G 019 Grid(195/55/16), I couldn't find a tire I liked in a 205/50/16. Since I've got the smaller 16" and a "JustaCooper" I have a spare. :)
