Help. I can't figure out when my car was born!
 

I was told that there should be a plate on the drivers' door. But there isn't any. At least as far as I can tell.

There's one on the passenger door that reads the following:

Made by BMW
Mini Cooper S
N14B16A
A59/5
1.0
Laser Blue Metallic
Bayerische Motoren Werke AG
((VIN Number)

There's another one on the drivers' door which lists tire pressures, a tire with a RESET sign... and that's it.

Every car I've owned says something about the date of production and the place it was built... but mine doesn't. I also looked under the hood... nothing other than information about the refrigerant used on the A/C.

Am I missing something...?

On my 2006, right above, to the right, the tire pressure sticker is another sticker that has the Vin # and also the production date, just the month and year, no day.

It is entered as ##/##

Call MINIUSA give them your VIN #, they should be able to tell you when your car started/finished production. Some consider the start of Production, others consider the finished date as your car's Birthday. :)

Thanks, I'll definitely call Mini. I've tried to enter the Owners Lounge on the site, but the VIN isn't recognized as valid...

I posted a way to find this out once, I think it was in the "things you didn't know about your Mini" over 2 years ago. I pushed and held the button that resets the trip odometer and a screen of info comes up on the tach that includes the born on.. date. I found it by accident and there's other stuff there that i didn't understand. Try it.
