Mini runs rough only when cold in winter?

I have a 2007 S with 33000 miles on it. This is the second winter and when the temperature is below 35 or so and I first start out the car jerks like it is missing only when you are sort of coasting along in a high gear and the rpm's are below 1900 or so. As soon as the car warms up it stops and is fine. If I drop to a lower gear and increase the rpms it goes away. The engine is not lugging at the low rpms.

I've taken it to the dealer twice and once left it over night so they could drive it while it was cold. It produces not error codes and they have checked the plugs etc and can't find anything wrong.

Has anyone else had this issue and what was it. It's not a huge deal but an annoyance. It didn't do this the first winter I had it.

Thanks

That's the cold start problem. I have been to dealer @8600 miles. They replaced the cambelt tensioner on my car, but the problem is still there.

It's annoying in the winter, but 5-10mins warming up in the morning should be enough. I usually wait until the automatic climate control's fan speed reading goes from level 1 to lever 3 (Temp set to 72F), after that the car should be good to go.

But still I feel the car run smoother overall whenever temp>65F.

Wasn't there a problem with ice build up in the intake? I seem to remember reading about this on the forums. This does not really sound like the cold start death rattle problem. Sounds like when the ice melts the car runs fine. Seems there was a fix for this. Maybe you can search for it (I am too lazy to do it for you)

It happens even @ 40+F for a shorter period of time. I was told the complete fix will comes in sometime around May-Jun 09 and I sincerely hope that will fix the problem. Problem is you can only experience the problem at lower temp + certain humidity combo: it's almost impossible for us to check whether the "NEW PARTS" has solved the issue until the next winter.

My wife is annoyed by long early morning warming-up section, so if BMW-Mini can't solve it quickly, I might be forced to drop my mini for a more "Normally behaved" car before the next winter.

For the record, it's not the "death rattle", although on occasion I have had that. When I experience the roughness the engine sounds "normal". Also I park in a garage and doubt it is he ice in the intake issue.
