Curtain's match the carpet

I couldn't think of another way to ask a question about a cooper where the roof and body colour are the same.

I bought the mini in a solid colour because in Canada it was available as a a $2000 cheaper model then the standard cooper, I'm still in my 20's and anyway I can save 2 grand... I always kind of thought that I could get the roof painted black later on, and add stripes easily enough. Now though I find the one colour mini is sticking out among other local minis. I think some minilite knockoffs, black honeycomb grill, tinting and side scuttles and the exterior will look really good in a clean way.

Anyone else got some love for the one colour mini.

I've got an all Astro Black S currently sitting at the Port of Entry waiting to be shipped over...the same-color roof was the only option I considered on my purchase. So, yeah, I got some love for the same color MINI.

I like my all mellow yellow MCS. Definitely rare. I see a lot of white or black tops.

I get it...but I went back and forth about unique opportunity to have contrasting roof and side mirror colors prior to ordering. Everytime I saw a solid color Mini, it always look better..to me. Maybe it was the overall smaller size of the car. Ended up with Sparking Silver...everywhere...and no regrets.

ALMOST went that way. I started with the contrast white roof & mirrors, plus bonnet stripes. Got near to production date; was going to go with OB/OB with viper stripes. Then saw an OB/W with bonnet stripes in the flesh. Changed mind again--began to think there was such a thing as too much of a good thing. Ended up with OB/W w/ no striping. In the back of my mind, which sometimes moves to the front, I'm considering having a design painted on the roof (no vinyl--paint). Haven't made that leap yet, but this color scheme leaves that option open.

Short answer--I think the single color could definately work!

Thought about this too while configuring, but knew I had it nailed:

Astro Black with White roof and White mirrors. Works really well. Not too much white, just enough. Really clean too.

I also ordered solid Dark Silver, by choice. I considered the stripes, but not a huge fan of how it looks with Dark Silver (black or white,) and think solid colour looks super classy. If I decide I want something afterwards the plan is for viper stripes front to back (two thicker solid black stripes right down the middle,) much more of a muscle look in my opinion.

I saw a gen 1 at a dealer, same as yours, and fell in love with black and white

BRG/BRG here. Although I like the white top with a dark car, I really like the solid color overall. Very classy, and a bit less conspicuous in my eyes.

My first MINI, a 2003 MC, was CR/B. Current 2007 MCS is CR/CR.

I have an all Indi Blue which I bought used from the dealer. I would have prefered the roof to be white, but instead I have add UK mirror caps and sunroof graphic. So it looks great now, and I don't think with the white roof, the UK graphic would look as good. So it all worked out in the end for me.

My '08 MCSa is CR/CR and love the one color look.

I might add black sport stripes down the road.

Percy is solid Dark Silver. I wasn't going to go with a black top in Texas and the white just didn't set right.

Triple Pure Silver

My Phantom is all PS. Pics in my gallery.

I saw a pic of a PW/PW the other day, and it was gorgeous... and so different than the many PW/B ones I'd seen. Go for what YOU like!

First off, kudos for asking the question in such a bitchin way.

I guess it all depends what you like, first off. For me, when I see PW, its almost always with a black roof and black wheels. After configuring my car for about the 9000th time, I decided I wanted a solid color car- pretty rare out there.

And if I think its done right, PW/W can look super clean and beautiful. Not that PW/B cant, but its more of a busy look.

Either way,

I think you should do what you feel. I really like the look of an all single color mini. Think about it, how minis do you see with just one color?
Heres a random pic only because i feel the need to satisfy orangecrush's craving. Its one of the garage. Enjoy??
