I performed this mod on my R56 and the maps lights no longer work.

Is this a coincidence, or does the purple wire with blue strip connect there? Everything else in that control cluster works. Is there a fuse I should be looking for? I didn't see anything in the fusebox with the maplight symbol on it, so I thought it might be shared.

Have you checked that plug and where the wires go into each half of it? Could be that one of these were loosened while the harness was getting moved around. I doubt that it's a fuse; it is common to put all interior lights on a single fuse, but that's a guess on my part. I'd re-check all the physical connections before going on to anything else.
