What's in your secret compartment?

I found that it's a perfect hidey hole for a Kel Tec PF-9. But of course that's legal here in Tennessee. Don't try this at home if your in my previous home state of CA!

Dubaian Jul 25, 2008 05:20 AM

a special little book  and a SLR camera remote!

DaPooh65 Jul 25, 2008 05:24 AM

TWISTER Jul 25, 2008 05:49 AM

I had trouble at first thinking about what I wanted to keep in there.
Now, it's spare AA Batteries and 1 of my Walkie Talkies

Not very exciting, huh?

gjhsu Jul 25, 2008 05:53 AM

A mini stereo cable for using the AUX jack, and a shift knob cozy. :)

gokartride Jul 25, 2008 06:46 AM

The MINI CD case I bought years ago is an absolutely perfect fit in the secret compartment.

Anthony314 Jul 25, 2008 06:47 AM

I didn't get my Mini yet either, but can you lock this compartment or the glove box?

wbarnhill Jul 25, 2008 06:51 AM

Eventually who knows...

clayvt Jul 25, 2008 06:52 AM

I found its great to keep my glock 26...

cristo Jul 25, 2008 06:55 AM

Since I have a 1st Gen. MINI, my secret compartment is SO secret that
neither me nor the CIA know what's in it, or even where it is.

The secret compartment does not lock. The glovebox doesn't either as far as I can tell.

hunsingeruk Jul 25, 2008 06:57 AM

well, gjhsu beat me to the punch , but I keep my drugs in that compartment

Mini S Pilot Jul 25, 2008 06:59 AM

Is a wonderful fit for my radar detecter. I put one of those little can huggies over it that looks like a Hawaiian t-shirt. We joke when I take it out that I'm taking my buddy out of his room and undressing him.

"The Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner and Other Poems" by Coleridge which is a palm-sized softcover, a MINI pen, assorted notes are in my secret compartment.

Officially called the dashboard storage compartment, the so-called secret compartment (which sounds sexier anyway) doesn't lock. To open it you merely push the dash in front of the passenger's seat. So I've booby-trapped mine with an attack albatross.

I put my Ipod and when I'm at the gym in goes my wallet and phone.

CarGuyNeil Jul 25, 2008 10:07 AM

It must be a later than 2003 MINI item as I wasted a half hour going through my owners manual looking for this supposed compartment to not find anything about it in the manual. And no amount of pushing on the dash did a darn thing. Bummer for us older MINI owners. I was hopeful we had something cool like that also.

TWISTER Jul 25, 2008 10:12 AM

And what forum are you reading? 2007+ so don't blame us guy

sk8erguyzach Jul 25, 2008 10:14 AM
