As I am exploring the MINI known as Me'lo have 2 questions and 1 answer
First to the questions:
Does anyone know what the two brass bolt sites are for on the top side of the engine..here they are noted with a big red > http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b7...esonengine.jpg Next is who manufactures the turbo... in this picture there is a 'K' inside a triangle with a 'Made in Germany'.. so who makes the turbo? http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b7...turboIDtag.jpg And now to an answer.. saw this sticker on the door end>> http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b7...ingsticker.jpg After placing a mirror on the sticker I could read "WWW.TEPHSEAL.COM' ..well I knew I did not get that paint sealant crap so did the GOOGLE thing. This is a company that does new car prep (aka "detailing") for dealerships so that dealers do not have to have paid staff on board to do this... actually a very good business alternative. Here is their web site to see a market niche>> http://www.tephseal.com/ Point being that for a new car delivery I give them a 85 (think college test scores) which means B- and for me hyper type A etc that is most excellent...most I usually give is C to a C----- That is the enlightenment for tonight Michael |

The K used to stand for Kühnle, Kopp & Kausc but they have been bought out and broken up. The automotive turbo division is now owned by Borg Warner who bought it from Penske. See http://www.turbodriven.com/en/company/default.aspx
