The Official "I don't have rear fog lights but my Cooper is still great" thread

With the customization and uniqueness of our Coopers, I see that many frown upon us non-rear Fog-Lighters as the poorer cousins of the MINI world.

Well I for one am standing before all the MINI elitists to proudly say that my MCS has no rear foglights and I am loving it.

And no, it wasn't an ordering mistake. Nor am I desperately looking for rear fog light kits to "complete" by fine automobile.

I really liked the look of the black outs at the rear of my "beast". And the missing toggle does not cause sleepless nights.

I know that there are a few of you who feel this way. And if you do, stand up and stay:

"We have no rear fog light(s) and we like it that way".

Rear fog lights are illegal.

Definitely with you here, bro.
My Justacooper has the black plastic piece where the foglight would be, and I think it looks fine. In fact, i think it looks better. The black just goes well with the rest of the other black trim. Also, one less thing to potentially go wrong in the future. The blank toggle causes me no issues at all.

Not hatin', just saying is all.
Tony

Rear fog lights are the biggest waste of money option there is for the Mini. Exterior of the car looks better without them, anyone who does it just to fill out the toggle switch bay, has serious problems. End vent.

[read with a psuedo Mexican accent]

"Fog Lights? We don't need no steenkin Fog Lights!"

Fog lights are for those who spend their lives in a fog. I can proudly stand on my roof and announce to the world "I have no rear fog lights and I am proud"

[but the blank toggel switch still makes me have night sweats]

Definitely NOT worth $100 to me! I would never use rear fogs here in CA and I don't mind the missing toggle switch.

Thanks for making us feel like we belong!

I think people without fog lights are "bitter." It's not surprising that you guys cling to NAM or message boards or antipathy to people who aren't like you. IMO, join the elite and buy some fog lights... I am D Unit and personally condone this message.

Hello,
Am Qban and I dont have a fog light.
At first I thought I was a freak, a anomaly of the MCS world.
But slowly I realized I wasn't wrong.
And my days were brighter.
There is hope for you non fogers out there.

Fogers, I would see them once in a while.
Sporting they "shiny new light".
An I would question my sanity.
"HOW COULD I NOT HAVE ONEEEEEE"
I would scream alone in the dark.

Until years after owning my MCS I decided to "black out" my trims.
No every day is a new wonderful day.
I WAS RIGHT!
FOG is WACK! Black is the way to gooooo!

Alleluia!!!THANK the MINI Gods for black plastic covers!

Viola, in her infinite wisdom and evil genius-ness, came without a rear fog light as well. I'm certain that this decision was calculated as to somehow make her superior and more memorable than all other MINI Coopers in the universe, and contributes to her plan of world domination through MINI motoring love.

Perhaps she just wants other MINIs out there to know that you don't need a rear fog light to take over the world.

Yeah, but the auto a/c is like... totally worth it! It's set it and forget it. You'll be glad you spent that money.

If the black bumper area on the MCS didn't have those cutouts/blanking plates and instead were smooth throughout that would have been perfect, but as is the mere existence of those blanking plates cry out "something was supposed to be here but it currently isn't".

I couldn't care less about the "missing" toggle switch. EDIT: True, same concept as the exterior blanking plates, but for some reason it doesn't bother me as much as not having the lights

I am delighted to not carry something as needless as extra fog lights in TX. Simple is best, If I coulda deleted the power windows, I would have done it. Then I would have THREE blank toggles.

You guys are cracking me.

I don't have a rear foglight either.... kinda wish I did though. Mostly cuz the one missing toggle makes the toggle panel look unbalanced.

I have been thinking about adding a toggle with a cool label/icon there just for fun. Bought the toggle from Pelican Parts... it was only $7. Now just need to figure how to trim it down so it will fit without having to remove the head unit. Any suggestions?

I don't have rear fog lights and I never thought about getting them.
And I do have a sunroof in my Justacooper. And I can't live without it.
