Tried this last night with mixed success.

I was able to fit 150+ tracks on a CD.
Tracks were shown with numbers only (TRACK001-003). More work to do.

Question: Is there a way to have the RND (random) function stay on when the player is turned off?

Still having a problem if you guys can offer some insight.

I used iTunes, burned a playlist onto a CD in MP3 format, but still only get Track 000-001 etc. If I play the CD with another application, like Windows Media Player, the Artist/Album/Track info is displayed (so it's available).

Any hints?............Thanks

1. Do the filenames include the track title? I don't recall whether the MINI uses the filename or the track info for its display.

2. Do you have it set to "Automatically retrieve CD track names from the Internet" when importing songs?

3. When you "Get Info" on a track, is the "Name" field filled in?

Will the display show the filename, or will it use the iTunes info if you burn via iTunes?

(I mean when your right click->get info)

Thanks for checking in on a holiday!

1. Filenames are the track title, in some cases preceded by a track number (i.e.: 01 Freebird.mp3 or Radar Love.mp3).

2. These are files (tracks) that have been on the PC for years. However, the PC is not presently connected to the internet. (It was when tracks were ripped from CD.)

3. Artist, album, and name fields are all filled in. They appear when a track is playing in iTunes or WMP.

I have tried a few versions of ID3 (1.1, 2.3, etc. without success).
I have tried burning as a data CD from within iTunes. CD plays, no track info.
I will try the various burned CDs in a friends car (non-mini) tonight.

Last bump...I Promise.

When playing a standard, commercial music CD, are the track names supposed to be displayed? (HK system)

No luck with the MP3 tags either. I have not yet been able to test the MP3 CD in another car.

Do you realize that you're in the R56 section of NAM? You would probably get better answers in the first gen forums. The stereo systems are different. Good luck.

Thanks. I latched onto the thread without noticing its category. I'll skip on over to a more appropriate area and plead my case.

Try to use Nero. You can probably find a demo version on their website. I've never had a problem.
