It's like going to college, just to learn all the stuff in the new car!

...almost as fun as college, but not quite.

Reading the manual and these posts, at least now I can stop re-cranking the car with the button when I was trying to shut it off.

Figured out the garage door, but navigating my way through the nav system / entertainment menus... I think it's going to take a few days to truly master these. About half the time I twist when I'm supposed to push, and push when I'm supposed to flick!

We have yearly and twice yearly refresher courses; It's ok. If you haven't already, check out the threads "What you don't know about your Mini" and a similar thread about "Things you don't know about your R56." Good stuff, but you're STILL going to be going out to the car every two seconds to try some of it out!! Use wireless internet, and bring the laptop out to the car if you get too tired running back and forth!!!

Congrats, and wise choice of car. Happy Motoring!

MINI controls may be many things, but intuitive is not one of them!
They're either annoying, infuriating, or charmingly quirky, depending on your point of view...

I'll second that!... luckily I got some help from some local MINI owners

The Driver's Seat will be your Classroom for a bit, but with the Manual in hand...I like the Laptop idea. You'll soon have your MINI Youniqified!!

I suppose I'm getting used to them, but I'm not finding them difficult to work out. When I first got Tristan I did have trouble getting the indicators to shut off, but that's not been a problem for about 11 months now.

Though this evening I did have to consult the manual (actually get the wife to consult as I was driving) to work out how to get the instruments to dim. (Tap the button to dim, hold to brighten. That's not obvious.)
