I'd like everyone to meet Charlie

Charlie: 2008 Mini, Lightning Blue with white stripes, sport seats, convenience package, automatic, DSC.

I picked her up yesterday, and am having two annoyance problems. The iPod connection seems to have this problem with maintaining the connection-intermittent sound which I am discovering is a common problem. And the bluetooth is also intermittent. I called my sales guy late in the day and he had already left so I am waiting for him to call me back.

Pictures will be forthcoming as soon as I get new batteries for the camera. Didn't realize it was dead until I went out to photograph my new baby

Welcome skelegirl and Charlie . You two will bond and become fast friends . Nice options . I did not get the hook up for my Ipod , just go through the aux
, it works fine but no display on main unit . Oh well .

My dealer is taking care of the iPod issue on Tuesday because they thought they had it fixed but I didn't even get out of the lot before it started back up.

I forgot to mention one other problem but it was easily solved. The tire pressure gauge was permanently on as it hadn't been taken off of shipping mode. The dealership has handled everything wonderfully. I think this is the first car that I have ever owned that I haven't had even a twinge of buyers remorse.

Are you a midget? Excuse me, a little people? Did it come with a booster seat so you can reach the pedals?

NashvilleMiniStan Apr 26, 2008 11:12 AM

Wecome and enjoy Charlie.

Nice pick up, you said you pick'd HER up yesterday but her name is Charlie?

SteelersFan Apr 26, 2008 10:32 PM

My Charlie is also a girl, after Charlize Theron with The Italian Job in mind.

Very nice Cooper. :) Things will get sorted out and you will enjoy some great drives.

Nice to see you daughter already posing near Charlie, looks good. :)

For me, cars are always female but since she looks like the version that Mark Wahlberg drove in the Italian Job, she got named Charlie...

Beautiful car and kid too.

skelegirl Apr 27, 2008 06:26 AM

I'd like to thank everyone who has commented on Charlie (and Carolyn). They are both the apples of my eye.

That's what I've been pondering.
Should my 08 MCS have a male or female name?
I'm a guy so, I'm leaning towards a female name.
Same colour configuration as your's skelegirl, LiB/Wht stripes.

Some help would be appreciated. I'll be picking it up on Tuesday.

I really think you oughta drive it before making up your mind as to whether it is a male or female and come up with a name from there. I thought of getting a girl name, as the only other car I had that was a girl was a bright orange Fiat Spider. Her name was Sophia, after Sophia Loren.
Once I got this car, it was very evidently a boy. It took me awhile to come up with a name, and believe me I went through all the very bloke sounding names and none suited him. Perhaps if he were a different color...or different options...Anyway although having British roots, and being built in the UK, he is still reaching for a slight attachment to his German ties. My car is named after the German spy which was turned into a goldfish on Foxs' American Dad. His name is Clause. So drive your car, and then decide, it makes it much easier IMO anyway! Good luck!

Congrats on Charlie! I'm pretty sure the percentage of Mini owners with buyers remorse are VERY VERY small. And then they mod.

As for naming/deciding gender, mine still hasn't told me which gender, although I suspect it's male...It just picked a name and stuck it in my head. Repeatedly. Drive it first, and let the info come to you in it's own sweet time!
