How Do I Find Out My Mini's Production Date?
 

New member. Sorry if this has been asked a million times, but I'm not having any luck with the search function.

I'm just trying to find out what date my Mini was built.

open the drivers side door, then stand on the outside facing into the car and its on the right hand side of the door sill, next to your seat, it should be a black metal or vinyl tag(at least on the 02-03 minis). this will feature most of your cars specs, including the date(for example mine was built in november of 2002, so it says 11/02). hope that helps

Your MINI parts person can print you out a build data sheet if you give him your VIN number. The MINIUSA site also has data based on your VIN when you register at that site.

doors easier, its all right there, and you dont have to deal with the dimwhits at a dealership or parts store

Hold your odometer button in for about 15 sec after startup and your "secret" info will come up starting with your VIN.Then just push until your IP Production Date comes up which is when your car is hooked up to the factory laptop for final diagnostics and first start at the end of the production line.:thumbsup:The official born date IMO.:)
