I was under the impression that MINI is able to give you the error code when you have a check engine light on by uplinking your car via satellite.
Anyone know anything about this, because the 1-800 roadside assistance # people are of no help.

 

Where did you get that impression from? As far as I know, the only vehicles that can do that are GM products that have Onstar.

 

I would guess he might be thinking of bmw assist, but I dont know if minis have it (or if bmw assist even reads engine diagnostics).

 

The MINI sales guy told me that when I bought the car. I think he told me a lot of bs though.
