What's new for 2007 from 2006?

I'm looking to trade in my 04base for another mini, S or Base, automatic. I'm curious as to what are the main differences between the 07 and 06. I know the 07 is a bit longer but I've heard the 07 has a n engine built by Puegot(sp) and that the cvt is being replaced by a 6 speed auto tranny. Any other changes that would inspire me to go w/ a 07 rather than an 06? S vs Base?

If you can visually see the 1 inch or so length increase are better than most.

Yes the engine is new, yes it's a joint BMW/Peugot design.

Yes the CVT is gone because it's relatively unreliable.

As for the 07 v 06 debate you can find plenty of stuff just by searching the forums but the best thing to do is go sit in an 07 at the dealer and see if you like the styling etc.

Turbo in the 07+ MCS vs supercharger in the 06- MCS.

New interior, mostly to accomodate the huge speedo. Either you love it or you hate.

short answer... everything.

I read somewhere that you could count the number of parts that were shared between the 06 and 07 on one hand. Whether or not that is true, i don't know, but it is an extremely different car in almost every respect.

Having said that... I really liked my 04 MCS, and this car is growing on me.

We have one of each and if you are a MINI person you can tell the difference between them. Ours are both MC's and I must say I do like our 08 and really like the auto tranny in it. (i have a 5 speed in my 06) Go for a test drive and see for yourself.
