My dealer is discounting the 2007's
I just got an email from Dreyer and Reinbold that they are discounting their 2007 mini's. Guess they are not selling that well?
If your in the market you should check them out. I have always had good service. |
Many dealers have been discounting pre-specced 07s on the lot for a few months now, since most people are now ordering 08s.
|
a few dealerships here in South FL are also giving great interest rates on the '07 models.
|
Got my 07 Sat in Nashville. Dealership gave $1000 rebate, throw in mats and arm rest. I also got 4.9% financing.

yea see thats what i was saying i got the same interest rate when i got mine on 01/12. honestly there isnt much of a difference and i got mine with the sport package which doesnt bring all the stuff i got it with anymore. |
I think with talk of a recession coming all car makes are having trouble selling their cars. It'll only get worse but then it might be a good time to buy!
|
Yes, I've noticed the discounts, too....great news for some folks and something I thought I'd never see. I agree...the '07s are selling fine, but it seems Plant Oxford is finally able to keep up on the supply side. There were about 6 MINIs the other day at my local dealership...and two shipments later (only weeks apart) the lot is now full of '08s (w/ a new spoiler on Coopers)!!!
And speaking of Coopers, with them now easily getting 37-38 mpg around town and gas prices going up, I expect the showroom will remain quite busy. |
I never once remember any kind of deep discounts or special lease/financing factory sponsored programs on the R53s....

MINI Sales have been increasing month over month for as long as I can remember. I think the last decline was when the plant shut down to re-tool for the 07s. MINI sold 18.7% more cars globally in 2007 than 2006. The sales increased from 188,077 to 222,875. In the US, they sold 7.0% more cars at 42,045 vs. 39,171 in 2006. December MINI sales in the US were up 44% to 3,562 vs. 2,472 in Dec. 2006. Oh, and there is a 2-4 year wait for any new Ferrari... clearly they aren't having trouble moving cars. |

Well that was 2006 and 2007, we'll see what 2008 has in store...
more people might buy mini's though. they get amazing gas mileage compared to suv's and honestly even Corolla's and Civics. i looked at both of these options when buying one of my MCS' and both run you at about 19k and dont get the advertised "35 mpg". i drove an '06 toyota corolla before i got my mini on the highway all the time and was only getting 27-29 mpg. thats what im getting driving my mini in the city. maybe you're right but i think smaller cars will see more sales. |

For example ... October 2007 was down on September 2007, and down on October 2006. I know it's just nitpicking, but since I have the figures, I might as well link to them  |

'07 Mini
I just paid $1733 under MSRP in Southern California on a new '07.
The dealer wouldn't discount an '08. |

MINI USA are doing well selling MINIs - but they have not always "increased month over month" - see the sales figure details here

The dealer here can't keep them in stock. One day you'll go in and there will be 7-10, two days later and they don't have one car in stock. They sell them as fast as they get them in.
|
I know that my dealer is certainly allowing more negotiating for 2007s. He told me that up front.
