My OBD II scanner doesn't work with R56. Help.

Actron OBD II reader, cp9145, does NOT work with my R56s. It showed message "connection error".

The above reader worked well with my 2000 Porsche Boxster S.

What do you think?

BTW, there is nothing wrong with my car. Just testing the tool and found out about this.

What was the equivocal Key position. Does the R56 have an accessory mode?

Im afraid your Actron CP9145 is not advanced enough to read all the codes for the R56, even though it is C.A.N upgradeable. www.minimania.com is working on a R56 scan/reset tool, but it is probably not out yet.

I have an actron cp9125 (the cheapo one) that works just fine on the r56.

You need to make sure that the key is in the proper position (the "on" position) before telling it to scan.

It should go like this.
1. plug in connedctor to OBDII port.
2. insert key fob into slot.
3. press start button without the clutch pedal depressed.
4. Turn on scanner.

Hope that helps.

Do you know if the Actron cp9125 will reset the airbag code?

An OBD reader will not reset airbag lights. You normally have to have a testbook equivalent computer to read and reset those. My Innovia OBD II reader connects to the r56 just fine.

OK cool, Thanks!
