Glovebox Organizer From Minspeed (formerly My MINI)

Has anyone gotten this Glovebox Organizer to work? I've tried and tried and cannot get it to fit. The instructions are not detailed at all and customer service where I bought it hasn't returned my last e-mail.

I'm thinking that the A/C Diverter in the back of the glove box is stopping it from getting in snuggly but wanted to see if anyone else had any issues before I take my dremel tool to it.

Here's a picture of the item:

If you have this and have successfull installed it, can you post a picture or at give me a clue as to how to get this thing put in correctly?

Thanks,
Mike

Is that the OEM version? I ordered one from a MINI dealer and it didn't fit. So I returned it.

The 2007 version from GoMiniGo is good.

I agree! The Glove Box Tidy (GbT) from GoMiniGo is excellent.

I've e-mailed him a few times. He was responding at first, but once I asked him the question above he hasn't responded.

Does anyone have any insight other than the Glovebox Tidy is great?

IMO, the OEM version just doesn't fit. I picked mine up at MINI of Mountain View. I tried to install it on the spot. When I couldn't make it fit properly, I asked a service manager to help. She couldn't make it fit either. So, she accepted the return.

The GoMiniGo version isn't perfect, but it works well. One side doesn't quite sit flat, but that doesn't affect functionality.

I got the same glove box organizer from my Mini dealer, and got it to work. It will fit if you play around with it. The side with the divider fin in the middle is the top side. It took a while. There are no directions and it looks confusing.

Mike,

That is not the OEM version. The OEM is actually worse because it has tangs that stick out the side.

That version has to be positioned on the glovebox door just right and then it will work.

Call Peter and I am sure he will help. BTW - Peter carries ours too.

So it moves with the door? Once fitted properly, does it sit securely?

Mine works just fine, and It does work just as you said,it does come down with the door...It certainly serves its purpose...my best suggestion is just give Pete a call,he's a super nice guy....You can get more done in one quick call than all those emails....I have bought several things from him and he is always been extremely helpful...Take care

Really? OEM version fits ok in mine. Sits on the door, goes up when I close it, comes down when I open it. That fake leather case with all the manuals, my insurance, etc fits underneath it.

Can you send me a picture of how it fits with the door down? Please?

Also, Peter has e-mailed me a couple times today. He's been unavailable for a while. He's going to make it right.

I'm having good luck w/ mine, too. I prefer the finished edges of the OEM item, although I have no doubt the fit has been dialed in a bit on aftermarket offerings.

I have the OEM one. Did you want to see pictures of it? I thought you bought the Minspeed model.

I'm pretty good figuring out how things go together (score very high in spacial relationship tests), but I couldn't make it fit properly and the service manager at MINI of Mountain View couldn't make it fit either. Perhaps there were some that had problems.

Maybe they changed the design. I picked up mine in October.
