Air conditioning pump won't stop...

I just got my MINI within a week, couple days ago I heard the air conditiong pump still running from inside the bonnet even I have turn off the engine and took out the key.
First time I was like,OK, it's gonna stop, so I waited outside the car for like 2~3 minutes and the air conditioning compressor finally stop running. But yesterday I stop the car(air conditioning was on the whole time driving), same situation happened again. I have to get in the car, start the engine, and turn off the air conditioning from inside the butten in order to shut down the pump....
I am starting worry, is it normal??
I want to emphasise that no matter I turn off air condition buttom before shut down the car or not, the compressor will still running for a while. I have to get in re-start the car and turn off in order to get it off...

Please help~~~~

Are you sure it's the AC pump? AFAIK there is a circulating pump that will keep running after you turn off the car till the turbo cools down to an acceptable level.

If you are referring to the air conditioning compressor, it belt driven from the engine, so it can't be running with the engine off. The cooling fan by the radiator will run after you shut off the engine to continue to cool things down, and there also is an aux water pump that circulates coolant to the turbo to cool it down after the engine is off.

Well, I am not sure if it's AC pump, but it sounds like Fans or belt still running.
You mention the circulating pump will keep running affter I turn offf the car, does it stop by itself after while?.....

So it's normal that cooling fan or water pump will still run after I shut down the car. Will it stop by itself? how long will this gonna take?

Yea, it does run after awhile, the fan is to cool off the turbo, mine stays on for about 30 secs, but depends on how hot your turbo is.
