UPDATE on Voice Dial

So...I was one of the folks who had a BT ready '07 MCS with a phone that had BT. Everything seemed to work, except voice dial. I read and read the manual, threads, etc. and I could not get it to work. Then I combined a few different options and here is the solution.

1) PUSH Voice Dial button on wheel...
2) "BEEP"
YOU - "SAVE Name" (you must say SAVE, not Store like the manual says to do)
3) MR BT - - "Say the name "
You
- -"......." (what ever name you want to save)
4) MR BT - - "Say the Name Again"
YOU - - "........" (again, say the name)
5) MR BT - - "Say the number"
YOU - - "###-###-####"
6) MR BT - - repeats "###-###-####"
MR BT - - "Continue"
YOU - - "SAVE"

Hope this helps!!!

This is really weird. My Bluetooth module was just replaced, and like the original module, I push the voice button and say "Call XXXX" (XXXX=any name in the phone book), and the Bluetooth man says "Do you want to call XXXX?", I say Yes, and it dials. Mine reads the phone book, and says any one of the names in the phone book. No programming, no training.

I'm very frustrated with the whole BT thing. I've got a Treo 750 that will mate with car about half the time I enter it. The other half of the time it just shows the electronic signature of the phone - something like E17 54 40...blah, blah, blah. Even when it does mate properly, after 5 minutes it mysteriously just disconnects.

It has never recognized the phone book and the voice dial has been a joke. I'm not too bitter!! . Wish I would have applied the money towards leather seats.

I feel your pain...My Bluetooth module was just replaced, because my Treo 755p fried it. It would connect/disconnect, and load the phone book over & over again. I was told that the repeated loading of the phonebook cooked the Bluetooth module. So, I bought a RAZR (which is on the infamous "approved" list), and I forward my Treo to the RAZR when driving. Not the best solution, but at least I can now answer important phone calls, shift, and steer, at the same time. MINI's Bluetooth deployment on the R56 is lame, at best.

That's the way mine has worked since the beginning. Still not sure why my March build car worked fine that way and others had the problem. Glad to hear yours in now working like mine.
