Test driving on Aug 3

I'll be heading up to a dealership August 3 to test drive one of those fancy Mini Cooper S's, and if I like the way it moves, I think I will be ordering one Starting to get antsy, with my mini (har har har) fleet of built-cars sitting in my miniusa.com garage.

Soon....

2 weeks until you even test drive? Why the long wait?

Well, if you're antsy now, just wait until you place the order....some have waited longer than 6 weeks to get theirs...

Make a list of things you want to see/do before you go. With a cheat sheet in your pocket you want say "Oh, I meant to check on blah blah blah".
My wife and I went on a Sunday morning and strolled around the lot for an hour or so. We read specs off the windows, looked at the different options, compared, and made a list of things to give a closer look later.
Best move we ever made buying a car. Neither of us has said "I wish we would have gotten...." yet.

This is the EXACT reason I'm waiting until I'm ready to order, before I do a test drive. Otherwise I might end up ordering right after a test drive.

Have a GREAT time!

Well, there's no dealership in town, which kinda bums me out, but there is one in Dallas, where my parents are, and I was gonna go visit them anyway.

I've got exactly the one I want built on the website, and I think it covers all the options that I really want. Luckily there are SO MANY configurations possible with this car, and they are basically made-to-order. I think that's what really draws me to the damn car, because I can get exactly what I want without compromising!

Oh, it will be fun... and, like Mini_Voyager said, I've waited until I'm ready to order, and I'm ready to order (assuming, in some freak accident, the Mini turns out to be a bore to drive, which I really, REALLY doubt).

For some background, I'm coming from a slightly modified 2002 Subaru WRX. So, what I'm giving up in sheer power (I'd like to believe my WRX is pretty quick, even with a buffoon behind the wheel), I'm making up in go-kart fun, and a sense of community - It feels like I'm getting back to a car of exclusivity (back in 2001 when I got my Subaru, NOBODY had them on the road, so a wave really meant something).
