R56 Ambient Lighting: What color are you?
I've told her the same thing my mother used to tell me about the radio in the car: "When you get your own, you can set it however you want!" Somehow, she fails to see the humor in that...

And I started off on blue, but now run orange because it doesn't compete with the dash.
I didn't read this whole thread... but does any have a way to disconnect the mood lights from the dimmer. When I lower the intensity of the lighting in the dash, it lowers the intensity of the lighting in the mood lighting to almost nothing. I want to lower the intensity of the dash lights and keep the mood lights bright.
How to Adjust Ambient Lighting?
Thanks in advance for any assistance.
Ditto. Would have been a nice touch if they'd had the color of the gauges change with the ambient lighting. Neurotic as I am, the blue bugs me since it's overpowered by the orange gauges.
I tend to agree. I like the orange how it matches the gauges. Good point.

I have a 2010 MCS Clubman and the ambient lighting is a standard feature included with my model, but no matter what I do I cannot get the ambient light color to change. Even after examining the owner's manual and trying every light switch, nothing seems to affect the ambient lighting. Since you have been successful in changing ambient lighting, could you please tell me exactly how to do this and which switch is used--the manual indicates there is something between the lighting toggle switches, but I'll be darned if I can find anything. Does the car actually have to be running? I have the key in and the start button is on, but no ambient lighting.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Thanks for the tip!
I appreciate your tip--this info was missing in the manual. All is well now.
Thanks very much.

I usually leave mine at blue, 'cause I like how it looks like moonlight at night.
Currently it's set to orange to match the instruments. And like the poster above, I wish I could leave the ambients set to full brightness and dim the gauges a bit.

Mine is sort of a purplish-orange (describing colors is not a strong suit). I think the ability to change the mood lighting is great but I would have to echo other poster's sentiments, I would really like to change the color of the gauge lights.
My mood lights are out of sync (except for the 'end' colors, blue and orange). When at blue (all locations are blue), if I press the toggle, the doors and pillars change to purple, but the overhead goes to a purple-ish pink. Next toggle, doors/pillars go to pink, overhead goes to orange-ish pink. And so on until they are all orange.
I can get to a purple on the overhead if I start out at orange and hold the toggle until it gets to purple and then let go (and the doors/pillars end up on blue).
Went to dealer today and showed them. Service guy saw the lights out of sync but didn't seem to think there was problem.
He is going to check out some other cars to see if they behave the same way. I have an appt for Monday, so hopefully they can fix it.
In the meantime, I usually have pink overhead and purple doors/pillars.

Purple it is for me, at least for the past month. I originally used the brighter blue. I suspect I'll rotate through several colors over time as my mood changes, or just when I'm looking for a change.
I love being able to change the colors, its like getting something new for my MCS everytime I change it

Currently running green, but that works with the Green Lounge Leather interior. I get a great reflection off the Striped Alloy Dash. If not green, red orange to match the gauges. Remember, green means go go go!
I use blue most of the time. But yesterday I had green going for St. Patties Day. And sometimes when I'm feeling colorful I'll have them auto rotation. I love to impress my friends when they get in my car. They all think it's so cool. Nevermind the go-cart handling! haha
