Let's Play "Name That Part"

Hello,

I was recently replacing a water pump on my 2009 S Clubman. As I was moving the motor up and down to improve access to the various water pump bolts, this thing fell out of the engine bay:

When I Google the text written inside the part (PMI 11 Z-172-3), it leads me to a manufacturer of Plastic Caps and Plugs. I suspect this was a dust cap on a part that was installed in the car and then the cap was discarded or dropped in the engine bay by the person who owned the car before me.

But, just in case, does anyone know what this might be?

Thanks

Looks like a battery terminal cover... Like something you would find on a brand new battery...

is it plastic or rubber? If ruber, it looks like a radiator support.
