Airbag/restraint codes 93CB and 93DF

2012 Clubman. I was hit by a deer (ran right into me, I was sitting almost still) on the passenger door. Took out both the front and back door with pretty big dents.

I found a 2009 Chili Red clubman at a junkyard about an hour away so went and bought both doors. Stripped most of the stuff out of those doors and installed all of the guts of my door.

Once I got done, I have two restraint/airbag codes on the car, nothing was there after the accident. I read them with my Autel diagnostic tool.

Those codes "93CB Airbag sensor B-Pillar, X-direction" and "93DF "airbag sensor B-Pillar x-direction, incorrect measuring range"

Where is the airbag sensor on the B-Pillar? I'm assuming that it's somewhere in the 3rd door.

I didn't change the seat belt and door latch assembly from the 2009 door, perhaps this is an incompatibility between the two cars?

BTW, I've got a bunch of leftover bits from the 2009 doors. Window regulator, speakers, passenger door handle, window motor, wire harness (folding/heated mirror, non comfort access) and the right side folding/heated mirror with a black cover on it, front window glass. If you need something drop me an email or a private message and let me know what you need. It'll be cheap!

So I'll again answer my own question:
  • The B-Pillar sensor is mounted in the third door about half way up between the seatbelt roll up spool and the door handle. It's held on by two Torx screws. I didn't see it when I was disassembling the door since it hides behind the seat belt and you can't see it.
  • The "new door" that I bought apparently came from a car that was in an accident (the doors were off of the car when I pickd them up) and had been triggered. I took the sensor off of my old door and put it on the new door and then cleared the codes, good to go.
The ECU keeps track of the fault in the sensor so you have to have the right tool to clear it. My Autel scanner can do that with the BMW diagnostic module loaded.
