Extra wire arter Starter install
To replace the starter I took out the intake manifold. I would now be ready to put the air filter housing back except - I have the Orange & Black wire pair from under the left hand (facing the car point of view) side of the engine with no visible place to plug them into. I figure I'd rather ask than disassemble what I've put together at this point~

Thanks for trying, this is non turbo - in going into my Bentley Mini book I see no listing for those parts. It stopped raining, so being the car is in the driveway I can now do some more looking, but fear I'll have to pull the manifold again. This plug receptacle must be hiding somewhere. Thing is, this is the only plug with a black & orange wire, but the diagrams in my book don't show how the wires are paired together~

I found where it goes!!!!!!!!! Pulled the manifold and found at the end of the braided looking hose which is about 1" diameter and snakes "thru" to the back side of the manifold (between manifold and block), a 90 degree fitting which plugs into the manifold and has the electric plug for this wire. Now, to find the nut I dropped that holds the manifold on.
Just to mention, my book covers both the model and year of my car and I don't see anything about this~
For anyone dealing with the starter or manifold, this wire is clearly expected to be undone between the brown & black connecters in the preceding photo. That way the wire will remain with the manifold and the connection can always be seen.
