Worth buying 2010 Mini Cooper Clubman S?

I’ve always wanted a Mini Cooper and found a great deal on a 2010 Mini Cooper Clubman S that only has 32,000 miles on and is an automatic. Is it worth buying? I keep reading horror stories on repairs but can’t find any other vehicle that stands out to me like a Clubman!

If you want it...... you realize you are asking a group of enthusiasts this question right? Most will say yes, buy it. Lol. and maybe that’s what you are looking for? Ok then.... buy it.
seriously, I really like the Clubbies. If you are worried about some of the repair and failure stories, there are a few.... we’ve all had something at one time or another. But there’s just something about these cars! They are the most fun you will ever have behind the wheel. You may want to look at 2011 and up as they have the N18 engine which is not perfect, but has some improvements made over the previous N14. Carbon build up isn’t as much of an issue with them.
good luck

The N14 engines do get a bad review for the most part. Whatever you decide, get a Prepurchase inspection from a qualified mechanic who specifically knows MINI Coopers. They will know the pitfalls of the car. Do some reading first and then hit them up with some questions before hiring them. See if they really know what the issues are.

Ask yourself why is it a great deal on the 2010?

it all depends on options and price. Inspection of the car is nice, but it also depends on who's inspecting! shops and dealers have proven that their number one goal is to get your money! So you want to be careful.

lastly, just got an 09 clubman S auto fully loaded for an irresistible price, and it was flooded lol. Manual tranny make the care even more exciting to drive IMO.

If you opt for the N18 engine option, look for the one with Bosch high pressure fuel pump. I think those are fitted after the second half of 2012 (for the most part)

I wouldn't pay extra for a low mileage one. It'll have all the same problems a higher mileage one will have and the interiors on these cars seems to hold up reasonably well. I'd spend less and get one with closer to 60k miles. Then take the money you saved on the purchase price and set it aside for repairs.

What's the great deal and is it from a dealer or private seller?
I love my 08 S Clubman, automatic.
Street legal high performance go kart!
First automatic I ever owned, but the Steptronic is pretty bad *** in my opinion.
I have had a couple issues, but they are the typical ones though, Carbon Cleaning, done for free with Carmax Extended warranty, and HPFP, which I am replacing this weekend.
I would highly recommend getting an OBD scanner, this helped me finally diagnose the HPFP issue.
I got a Mini specific Foxwell scanner, from Amazon, money well spent.
