I covered the original pillar in aluminum foil to protect it, then fitted some 2 inch PVC pipe in place and added some foam for extra space. Next I started the fiberglass and resin layers. I did between 2 and 3 as needed. Its ugly now, but it will take its shape. Letting it cure before more detailed triming.
Layers of fiberglass body filler bondo. The original pillar is out by this point. Lots of sanding ahead. Tools make life easier. Just working to get it nice and even. I repete the bondo filling as needed, then i move to red putty to fill the smaller imperfections. After that i prime it. Done with that jazz, and ready for plasti dip. I cleared the foam out of the pillar with a knife and a dremmel.
