Yep, i am just saying those are the two main ones for the turbo. Only thing other than that is maybe the plugs, coil packs, then I would go to an injector leaky or seal on the injector not doing well.

I read in your original post about when you found the intake nuts loose, tightened more, heard a pop/cracking noise, and got to thinking. Are you sure that you didn't crack the plastic intake manifold on that final tightening? Like it wasn't fully into place, sitting on something like a wiring harness or ? and that final tightening with pop/crack noise was a cracking somewhere on the intake? That could certainly cause a lean condition, and a heavy fuel smell as the computer tried to compensate. Just a thought.

That was because the locator dowels were not in their holes, and I stopped when I heard it.
These issues have been occuring before the no start issue that I began the thread on.
We sprayed the intake down after reassembly (properly) and no RPM change, so it's properly installed now.my injectors will be in tomorrow, so I will report back then!

Success!!
Injectors!!!
Got em from rock Auto. 40 a piece after core charge.
Easy install. Hardest part was getting all 4 in the holes. They have a tiny bit of play so get one in, work on another and pop one comes out, dammit...
All bolted in, bled a tiny bit of air from the Schrader valve. Put the fuel cap back on, put in ignition on, engine off to pressurize, no leaks.
Start... No leaks, even run after a few seconds, probably more air.
No pops, chugs, or raw fuel smell.
At 150,000 do your injectors!!!!
Old ones were NASTY! I'll upload pics when I can.
