barn doors locking mechanism jammed

Hi,
I have a 2010 clubman S. The barn doors locking mechanism is jammed. It is at the dealer. they are telling me they really have not seen this happen and will have to "break" a couple parts to access the lock. Not understanding why "Mini" did not put in an "emergency" lever. I will call the service manager if anyone can offer any suggestions before they rip her apart.
Thanks in advance,

The Bean.

Also, is there a way to change your username? new(to me) Mini.

does it click when you push the button? did you try using the remote? did you try to apply inward pressure and then pull?

Just had my left barn door latch fail. Lucky the right didn’t and replaced both latches to be safe.
