Mini emblem centers

Ok so yesterday I walk out from work and looked behind my car to find the center of my rear door emblem laying on the ground. Does anyone know if someone makes replacement centers? I would love to put like a black jack or checkerboard in its place instead of it just saying mini?

This is pretty common we just replace the entire badge. You might be able to get someone to make one for you, but it's curved so they don't stick very well.

there is a seller on ebay for stickers for the center - and for the indentations in the wings. He has several colors, including standard black. I put one of his stickers on my front emblem and it worked well....and matches my lightning blue paint.

There are a couple of EBAY sellers with replacement emblem centers. None of them I've seen has the little detail ring around the MINI in the center that the original does, but it looks clean and graphic on the car.

This is the guy selling the one with the little wing inserts (which I don't prefer, but you don't HAVE to put them on I suppose...) and somehow is getting the silver in the lettering: Mini Emblem from seller rogerwrong

This one is the one I used on my Clubman:Emblem from seller skin_devil

They both offer several colors, but you kind of have to search around their listings, or maybe contact them if you can't find something close to the color you want. The one I used has WHITE lettering in the center and I like it a lot. I also have a Lightning Blue R55s and the basic blue works well with it.

Important installation tip: Use a hair dryer, set on hot, when putting the sticker on. After peeling off the backing, carefully place the sticker (which is dead flat) on the very center of your emblem and then blow on it with the dryer to heat it up. This will soften the vinyl and backing glue and allow it to conform to the compound surface you're sticking it to.

Once it is warm to the touch, stop the dryer and press the sticker down RADIALLY from the center to the outside, smoothing it as you go. If you get a little crease, heat it up again and smooth it from the pointiest part of the crease outwards. If you get a bubble, carefully pull back the sticker until you just barely reach the edge of the bubble, heat it again for a few seconds, and smooth it out again ALWAYS working from the center out radially. If you get a really persistent bubble, carefully pierce the center of the bubble, which lets the air escape, heat the bubble location, and smooth over it. the bubble should disappear or become so tiny you don't see it.

I didn't use any tools to do this, just my fingers and the edge of my fingernail for working out any creases.

Good luck!

Thanks.. that information is helpful. I am going to order one. It's only a matter of time before the Elmer's glue stick wears off.

You could always go to steak n shake. Order some fries and use the center logo from the fries cup.

Now that is funny. If I had a diesel I could get some used oil for the tank while I was there too.

Scott that's a good idea.

Ok, but on the topic of the fallen off badge centers. What is the best practice for removing the existing badge. I have new ones from the dealer, and I don't want to mess up the paint.

Ok I replaced my emblems today, because my centers came off. Used a technique from a video I found online. You take a plastic strap... The same straps used to close big boxes. Or what's used to bundled lawn bags.... Anyway, Slide the strap in a sawing motion underneath the emblem. Once the strap is under a bit pull towards you on both ends of strap and the emblem gets yanked away. Pretty easy. And since the strap is plastic it didn't scratch the paint that I could tell.

Here is the video, kudos to the guy who made it.

I just replace the whole badge. As the wing on the emblem might be oxidized over the years anyway.

We just replace the entire emblem as trying to get a stick straight on the round surface is almost impossible.
