Clubman spare tire and tool holder. Diff than hardtop?
Hi,
I just sold a 2021 Cooper Clubman with spare tire and styrofoam jack/tool holder tray. I bought a 2011 S Clubman with styrofoam tool tray and no spare. So, I also bought a new spare tire from a person the bought it off a Mini related online store, advertized as using a MINI spare tire rim. The tire and tray don't fit together like my 2012 did as the tire is too tall. I verified with MINI parts department the tool trays of the Cooper (which often came with spare) and S are the same part number. I vaguely recall the spare Clubby wheel as being flatter than the wheel I now have. The MINI parts person says he can'f fnid/order any spare.
So the question...
1. Is the Clubby spare different than the hardtop spare? I think it is flatter, but my memory is not great.
2. Anyone know the part number for a Clubby spare ot where to order it? I did not see on RealOEM site.
Note: I was able to remove the tool tray, put tools in a recycle grocery bag, and load the tire and other items in below the first floor layer. The tire was convex side down, so I put a thin foam layer between the wheel hub and the body to help stop the noises.

For my 2008 MCCS bought from OO in mid 2010 with 19k on it, I just couldn't bring myself to buy a styrofoam insert and hold down for $80 (which it had always been) for a $100 spare (what I paid 6 years ago). I know it looks neater and holds everything securely, but some reusable grocery bags and a towel or 2, and a similar fixing **** and bolt I got from a salvage yard for a buck, and its a silent non moving installation that I never see or hear. The styrofoam takes up space that I actually use. I have a jumper cable set in a bag, the tools wrapped in a towel, a Slime pump set, a disposable coverall set, and some foam gardening kneeling pads all in there. That was why when I ordered my 2016 F54 MCC, I Thought the spare for $100 was a bargain!! Especially since with the other options, I had the cargo shelf kit that covers it. It has a small foam insert that fits just in the wheel rim and holds the (even fewer) tools and jack. They intelligently mount the tire (since there is NO well like on the R55) on the far left of the under well, to counter balance the driver a little and still leave a lot of usable space under there. I haven't priced the F54 spare tire insert, but if it is more reasonable, I MIGHT buy it. I keep looking for a salvagable one to reuse.
