The Clubman I am likely shopping for is a 2012+ S with less than 40k miles in an auto with xenons.

Found a 2014 S with 30k and drove it over the weekend. They want $19.5 which I think is about $1500 too high. There was another guy interested. I don't know if I should pull the trigger or wait on that elusive JCW.
I suggest waiting for the JCW. One will come by at some point. I had to wait about 8 months before I found the perfect one. Good call on xenons as a must-have, I can't imagine going back to halogens in any future car. I was very peculiar about the options I wanted (aka all of them) and actually managed to find one in pristine condition, only required $500 extra to ship it down to me (WA to CA). I'm sure the same will happen to you. Otherwise you might always regret not waiting!

I'd think about why you want the JCW. If performance only you can tune/JCW the S. If looks only you can add that too, but $$. If you have your heart set on a JCW.. the S is not a JCW.

I think I paid a bit over market, but got a combination we liked in nice condition from a local private seller.

2012 S Highclass Gray on Polar Biege w/ most options. (No NAV/connect, homelink or rear sensors).

NEXT CPO warranty thru 4/2017, Extended maintenance plan through 4/2018.

39.5k miles, $15.5k.

Congrats on your MINI! For me it is all about ending up with the MINI you are happy with. That MINI in very clean condition is not always readily available on the market, so I am willing to pay over "market" when I see it. Market is just the average of MINI prices, not necessarily the value of the cream puff MINI. CPO and Service contract has worth too. If you love the MINI you did fine in my humble opinion

I just picked up a very clean 09 Clubman S 6-spd with 85k for $7700, which I thought was pretty good. Replaced my 01 M3 vert, and am very happy so far, its more of a go-kart with a body than a car

Jeffnjm3,
For what it is worth, in the Denver area over the last couple months similar (09/10, around 80k-98k miles) MINI Clubman asking prices have been: $11,900, $8,800, $10,853, $8,825.

Slee_Stack, for similar MINI Clubman in the Denver area June-present asking prices have been: '11 53k $13,500, '12 28k $15,542. '14 13k, $21k, '14 29,995 $21,487. Point is, atleast in this market, for the couple month period only 4 like Clubman came up. So jumping on one with a strong offer makes perfect sense when the right one pops up in my humble opinion.

Best,
Carl

Going to test drive a 2009 this evening - - 25,000 miles and they are asking $10,400. Just missed out on a 2010 w/35,000 miles, so I am hoping all goes well! Only downfall is its an auto and I really wanted a 6-speed manual. *Fingers crossed*

I've decided to sell my '08 MCCS with 51k miles on it. I'll put it in the classifieds. I love e it, but can't justify keeping it AND the 2016 Clubman we just bought.

I live in Austin, TX and just picked up my '08 Lightning Blue Clubman S with the sports package, silver hood stripes, 6 speed manual, dual sunroof, leather with blue details and 105,500 mi on it for $6310. The dealer added a three month mechanical warranty onto it too. with all the tax, lic and fees it was $7k out the door.

I'm finding that the great price also came with a bunch of annoying issues that I'm hoping other forum members might be able to enlighten me on, but I'll ask those in another thread. The biggest one though is it needs the transmission guides replaced under the recall, so I'm going to do that first.

I'm OK w/ my price paid. As we've cleaned it up and are personalizing it, it really is in fantastic shape. Also learned it has a full 6/100 CPO vs the 5/75 we thought it had, and a whopping 600 mi on its new tires, so a bit of a bonus.

grats to the new mini owners! w00t. on my 2nd now! I was thinking honda accord hybrid, prius even omg! lol. but at the end of the day, the mileage increase wasnt worth giving up my desire for the car that best suits me.. a Mini. the 3 gals a week extra is trivial.
