Up-lamping OEM R55's Headlights

Had HID's on '07 Cooper S, didn't think they were worth $$'s paid at delivery. Now driving '13 Clubman mostly in rural terrain I desire higher quality illumination up-front but not wanting to melt anything expensive or hard to replace.

So rather than convert to LED somehow, I bought a pair of Sylvania's H13 SilverStar zXe lamps. Question is: will these play nice in my housings if I break the packaging to install 'em?

Otherwise I'll take 'em back & keep looking for a solution.

Comments and / or suggestions welcome, as are anecdotes.

I use them in my 2010 328xi as I drive alot on dark mountain roads and have had no issues. I am planning to put a pair in our 2010 Clubman as my wife leaves for work at 4:45am. I don't see any issues using them. Oh, I do like them in my 328.
