Hi All!!! New to the Mini family and this forum. Just bought a new to us 2011 S Clubman w/6 speed manual. I've seen mention of different engine types between years. Do all 2011's have the newer motor? I realize that all cars have the "oh crap" warnings but overall is there anything I should be overly worried about with this car? It's a blast to drive and my loves it!!!

N18 is the newest engine which started in 2011 unless you got a JCW.

 

Your MINI has the later N18 engine. All 2011 MINI Cooper S models, except the JCW, have the N18 engine. The JCW has the N14 engine.

My first MINI was a 2011 Clubman S; as the others have already said, you've got the N18. It's a good little engine. The best advice that many here will give you is to check your oil regularly and do more frequent oil changes than what the maintenance clock calls for. The most popular interval seems to be somewhere between 5K and 7.5K miles. Good luck!
