Anyone running catless downpipe with stock exhaust?

Just wondering if anyone by chance is running a catless downpipe with stock exhaust? Wondering what it sounds like or if it drones or any sound clips by chance?

TIA!!!

I ran a catless downpipe on a 2006 WRX with the stock cat back including the resonator, and thought it was too quiet. There was definitely no drone at highway speeds. I ended up going to a Borla Hush that eliminated the resonator as well and loved the sound of that. Nice and quiet down low, but when I got on it all heck broke lose. Not sure what the equivalent exhaust would be for a Mini.

I have a stock DP but I removed the 2nd cat and resonator. It sound good and mean/growl but not too loud that every civic and mustang wants to race me.

The R55, having 2 mufflers, quiets them down just a bit. My R56 had more growl stock vs stock, but now my R55 sounds just like I wanted it to.

I had a friend who gutted the inside of his R56 muffler to see what it would do and it was barely noticeable to a MINI ear. Using that logic and that the R55 has 2 muffler (smaller each, but together bigger than the R56) I would say the mufflers aren't too much of a noise restriction.

Is this was you were referring to Rob?

If so that's not too bad.

Yes sir, trying to post from mobile didn't work well :/

It should sound similar. I have an evolve catless dp, just waiting to add a fmic and tune before installing it. I think a constant cel would drive me batty.

I love the light popping and crackling when off the throttle, sound throaty but no where ricey like a big fart can Civic. For sure Rob if you can post up some sound clips as I'm leaning towards the same route you are going with the same mods.

Ya for sure. I might try it out since I can clear the CEL temporarily with the Torque Android app. Maybe next weekend.

I just bought my clubman in October, so next inspection is about a year away. I plan on getting a tune soon to clear the CEL full time. Plus I know a mechanic that'll still pass it even with the catless dp
