2012 factory car alarm

Anybody having troubles with their alarm? Any recalls or fix-it bulletins? For about 2 mos, alarm would intermittently go off. Always fixed with key fob (hit the unlock button).

Today, wouldn't turn off. Used key fob. Put key fob in car slot, started car & turned it off. Tried unlock/lock from front panel. Opened, closed car doors & did all of it again. 20 minutes until my neighbor across the street (with my manual) found the fuse by the passenger seat and pulled it out. By then, my battery life was close to nil.

Had it towed to service dept of my MINI dealer.

Can I expect a hassle? Still covered under warrantee, but if a number of people are having problems, I'd like to know about it.

Thanks much

Was your sunroof open? Windows down at all? I avoided it in my Clubman I've had cars with the Ultrasonic systems.. they seem to go off if air is just moving in the cabin when the car is parked... I like to pop my sunroof so the car does not get too hot...

car was open...

Don't have a sunroof; entire car was open when this happened; back barn doors, drivers & passenger side.

Oh, well. Seems like it's just my car's problem. Darned annoying one at that!!!

Happy that it happened at home, not out at the dog park w/2 dogs. Can you imagine me trying to get home???? 8D

New update; car still kept going off after sensor replacement.

I was cracking the windows so heat wouldn't build up. So when I do that, I have to lock the car by hitting the lock button on fob twice quickly. That turns off the inside alarm detector. When the air moves thru the car because I've left the windows open, the alarm senses the movement and goes off. Haven't had a problem since I learned the trick. Hope it solves someone else's problem...
