Body matched headlight and grill chrome - Dark Silver Clubbie

Had a friend (thanks Thanh!) take some photos of my recently modified Clubman. Like a majority of the people here I've never been a fan of the excessive chrome on the MINI exterior. Decided to bite the bullet and have my headlight and grill trim professionally painted to match the exterior Dark Silver color.

It seems to be a common modification on the forums, and it really ties the Clubman front end together. I'm very happy with the results and the stealthy look it gives.

I went with paint instead of Vinyl to ensure the color would be a perfect match. Mark aka 'OrangeCrush' was the person I sent it to, and the workmanship and quality of the work is top notch. He even replaced a part, free of charge, after it was damaged during shipping. I highly recommend him.

Photos are below.

Really nice. Been thinking about doing the same on my R55 as a way to get rid of the chrome. This came out very well. Love the clean look.

I was thinking about doing something like that too, but after replacing the chrome mirror caps I decided the Dark Grey doesn't look that bad with some chrome.

With your silver roof and web spoke wheels, the chrome doesn't look bad. I've got flat black OZ wheels and a black roof, so the chrome looked a bit out of place.

If your in the Mountain View area, you should swing by though and we can put the Clubmans side by side for comparison. I don't think I've seen the hypersport body kit on a dark silver Clubman in person before. The local MINI club also has a lot of fun events you should join in on (Silicon Valley Mini Club).

Or - if you are ever in Marin we could hook up too. I like how your car came out and I agree it looks better with the black.

I'll let you know if I'm in the area. I have a JCW bumper sitting in my garage right now as well, car should look even better with it installed.

If you ever get up here I'll show you one of the funest roads you will ever drive. It's an old stagecoach road over Mount Tamalpais and I usually ride my motorcycle on it but I've taken the MINI up there and it's a blast. Below are pictures of a few of the turns.

Looks like a fun twisty road. I've been meaning to head up Mt. Tam on my road bike for awhile now. This looks like a good excuse to do some road biking and setup a MINI club run in the mountains.

No - it's the 1880's Bolinas/Fairfax Road. Drive it on a weekday and you just about have it to yourself.

I'll PM you with the info.

The DOS CAI is really amazing. The noise it makes alone will put a smile on your face everytime you drive. You'll hear every noise the turbo makes, and sound like an hissing dragon on hard pulls. The installation is pretty straightforward as well, some of the rubber tubes required some man handling though.
