I understand that a bulb error will cause a bulb symbol to appear on the tachometer. However, is it possible for it to cause a check engine symbol ? Or is it simply a coincidence that this occurred after installing some LED plate bulbs ? My vehicle is 2012 Clubman S that is a little more than a month old with 900 miles on it .

 

Probably coincidence. Ours had a bad knock sensor at about a year old. Defective parts can happen. If the dealer's not too much of a distance, get it checked since I can guarantee you're under warranty. Well, I'd really, really, really, really hope you are. Because you are.

If they are too far, see if a closer BMW dealer will do it or if any other shops can/will do Mini warranty work. I'm not sure if there are, but others should be able to clarify this a little, I'm sure.

 

Do MINI Clubs have a globe check system? My Australian spec one does not.
