Dogs in the Clubman - I want to, but I don't want to.
I have two dogs that LOVE to ride in the car, but I'm reluctant to bring them in the Clubman because I really don't want their hair all over the place. One of them is a Husky/Shepherd mix and sheds like crazy. The other is a little white ****-on that isn't much of a shedder, but does leave the odd hair here and there. Last time he was in the car, I spent a few minutes afterwards picking little hairs off the seats. Basically, I'm too OCD for my own good. Does anyone have any advice, tips, or product recommendations that would allow me to contain the hair?

The MINI brand Clubman protective boot space cover is awesome!

I can second the PoochStyle mat. I just picked one up for my JCW Clubman.. quality is fantastic.

I've got a HC Clubbie too and I put my 2 English Bulldogs and Pitbull inside all the time. I have the PoochStyle mat for when the seats are folded down. Its a great mat and works nicely. The truth is that no matter what you do, when you put a dog in your car the hair creeps around all of it. There are definitely ways to minimize it and the PoochStyle mat does a great job at containing a lot. My dogs love riding in the Clubbie. Trust me I hate getting hair all over me and especially my car but a few rogue hairs won't stop me from letting my dogs make an already enjoyable ride even better.

I have had my PoochStyle mat for my cabrio for about a year. It’s amazing! I was so happy with it that when we bought my wife's CM this January we purchased one for it. I recommend PoochStyle to all of the members of our group with dogs and the service that PoochStyle gives is top notch!

My advice? Get over it, it's just a car.

I take my two dogs in my Clubby all the time, but they don't shed - they're Miniture Poodles!
Either the factory or the pooch style mats will help a lot, but invest in a good shop vac if you really want it clean! |

I agree - it's "just a car" and not as important as my spouse or probably even my dog, but I spent a fortune and I like to protect and maintain my property. And that includes a PoochStyle mat and frequent vacuuming and wiping down of drool and dust.

In addition, I let my dogs roam free in my old VW Golf, and not all of my passengers were thrilled about having to sit on hairy seats.
The poochstyle covers look great but I wish they had a color that matched the interior better yet still hid light color dog hair. Maybe something like a grey tweed or a grey version of the raffia pattern. |
Wheels are turning in Kirby's head.
You're about to whip some up, aren't you? |

The true Mini owner asks: What are the running costs of the dogs like in comparison to the running costs of the Clubman?
Meh. Get a seat protector and visit the Clubby with a vacuum once per month. My Clubman lives on a farm, I won't recount the horror stories I've inflicted on this car to you here. I want you to be able to sleep tonight. Needless to say, I haven't noticed any negative impact on my enjoyment level. Relax about the car, it's going to age on you regardless. |
I put 2 labs in mine. A sticky roller works wonders.

What's a little hair amongst friends? =) And they're good about reminding you to open your sunRoof
