I'm in for an answer as well. Was considering the resonator delete next week anyway.

For drone, it's similar to the R56 owners removing the resonator and getting the low-mid RPM exhaust drone in the cabin.
Removing the catalyst will only increase that since the honeycomb inside the cat will reduce exhaust notes and tone.
Read up on some of the archived threads in the R56 section about such.

Using the stock muffler with those items deleted you'll have a slight drone at cruising. Nothing unbearable by any means

I'm thinking about deleting the second cat and the muffler, replacing them with a 2 1/2" straight pipe and leaving the stock resonators.

This is with a 2 1/2" catless down pipe.

This will give you a very good idea what it will sound like, stock cat (1 in the down pipe) no central resonator or both rear mufflers.

Externally.
Internally.

Hey guys! I just got back from the Muffler shop, they did a secondary cat and Resonator delete on mine.

and let me say, it is amazing! Close to NO drone at all! love it. it has a nice deep rumble when it needs to be =]

no burbling or popping noise (although i was hoping to have some)

Will upload a video by either today or within this weekend!

I installed the Riss Racing mid pipe as well as deleted the rear mufflers with pipes and stock tips. It sounds awesome. Might delete the second cat as well. Anyone know if this will through a code?

any sound clips/vids of that. that sounds narly lol!

doesnt the midpipe already removed the secondary cat and resonator? if u're talking about the cat that is right next to the turbo, then yes it wud throw a code since there is a O2 Sensor in that cat.

i replaced the stock exhaust on my 2012 cms all4 with a milltek downpipe-back system

it is straight 63.5 mm pipe from the downpipe to a muffler located at the rear of the car where the stock muffler was

no resonator, no second cat, no drone

no CELs

the tone is much lower/deeper

quiet enough at steady speed, but "talks" nicely with the throttle open

Nice videos. Is that your YouTube channel or did you just happen to come across them?

I have no 2nd cat, no muffler, no resonators on my Clubbie Justa with Dual exhaust. I put the stock resonators back on and it honestly did not change the sound in the slightest so they came back off. It sounds pretty good for the money. There is a spec of drone while cruising above 50. Nothing close to unbearable. I would definitely recommend it.

Sounds pretty good.... I think this might be an upcoming mod. Did you just have it taken off and a pipe welded in where the cat was?
