R55 New Clubman sales trending downward
New Clubman sales trending downward
Jeez, the latest sales numbers for May YTD compared to a year ago show contunued decline for the Clubman. What does that mean for used Clubby values going forward?
I should be picking mine up tomorrow. One of the last of the 2012's (i think). Ordered 4/11, off the truck at the dealer on 5/29 Aero Kit being painted and installed to finish it off.

Pictures in my gallery before the Aero kit install, will update photo's when Pumpkinhead is home.

Beautiful car!
You are a bit scary looking though...

With very rare exceptions, used values go downward!
I'm not surprised, the Countryman is a better option for folks with kids, and while I like the extra versatility of my Clubby over a standard hatch, it's still a PITA to get kids or even our two small dogs strapped into the back seat, especially in a parking space with a car next to you that limits how far you can open the front door.
Still it's a better option for us than the standard hatch, but if they come out with a 4 door hatch, will there really be a place for the clubby?
As to value, I don't think it will have any impact in the near term, maybe someday way down the road......I'll be surprised if they continue the model actually, and I think the "van" version they just introduced is a way to use up the last stocks of the body panels.
I won't be surprised if there's no Clubman in the "F" series car lineup.

Isn't the 2013 model year the last for the R 55? I think they will have some parallel to the BMW 1 Series wagon that they'll call a Clubman, but maybe not.
I was wondering the same about our cars future values as collectables. I think that once production stops, we have a good number for everlasting parts but small enough to be a collectable.
I'm trying to keep mine forever, it's perfect for me in every way; yet I'd like it to be a valuable collector's item.

I read where the new Clubman will have 4 doors and will be based on the new F platforms that will be shared with BMWs. I don't know how much I will like it, but I will wait and see. I'm definitely keeping my Clubman...
I'm keeping my clubby too! If it wasn't for the Clubman, I would not have bought the MINI.
IF they did the 2 club doors, I would think about buying it. Countryman...I've had several as loaners...not gonna happen for me. Just don't like the way it drives, it's just not a MINI feel.

Love the quirkiness of our Clubbies...the club door on one side, the barns on the back, the wagon look. The hatchback is too impractical for my needs, and the Countryman isn't Mini enough for me. And judging by what we've seen of the F56 so far the MINIs aren't getting any Mini-er.
Yeah, she's definitely a keeper

Clubman works great for me.
The Clubman is the best model in my opinion.
This is the reason I brought a MINI in the first place, the regular MINI's are too small for my tastes, the extra room is what I wanted. The Countryman drives funny to me, and does not feel to MINIish to me as for its handling. I know it is a crossover, and it handles like one.
I will keep my Clubman S forever!!

Just out of curiosity where do you look up the sales figures. It would be interesting to see how the various models sales figures compare.
Motoringfile.com While overall MINI sales were up in May, Clubman still sagging off.
Supposedly the next Clubman will have more of a streamlined profile - more of a shooting brake style than a straight wagon. I'm cautiously interested in how that may turn out, but not overly so since the front end and interior of the next gen aren't looking too promising.

I like my boxed rear end and had to put my order in when I did to make sure I got the 2012.
The new interior looks lame, I'm with you there.
I see that your signature is showing up as

If you put in the HTML code (<center>) (</center>) to center the sig. change it to the BB code or just use the center text format at the top of the text box or your sig. picture won't show.
That's why MINI's coming out with the Clubvan (or whatever it's called), to utilize the production run. I hope it's successful.
The Clubman is the only model I could justify for my uses. I love it. I have no love for the Countryman.
