The left side of my 2011 Clubman is looking a bit plain, and i want to install the chrome fuel cap to break the monotony, however, my dealer quoted me $900+ to get installed, where as the place i was considering buying was simply going to add it in for me for free (of course, i didn't buy the car from there, which i kind of regret...but i digress)

Has anyone done this, and what would be a reasonable price? I plan on buying the part myself in hopes of reducing the overall price, ($50+ from a mini dealership store @ ebay)

 

Well a lot depends on what cap you have on there now. If it is the flat cap it is not just a remove car and replace there are other parts involved. Just the Chrome Cover may be $50.00 but that will not just fit onto the hinge for the Non S cars (i.e. flat cover)

$900 very ridiculous price they just did that so as to not have to do it cuz no one would really pay that kind of price.

Any reputable body shop should be able to put these pars on for you for less than $100.00 But remember that the body ring will need to be painted to match you car.

 

this part is installed from inside the rear fender liner, so that's gonna add complexity, time, and cost.
